Finally,
my first trip to Las Vegas! Thanks to
the GPWA's second
annual retreat! We had our retreat along
side the CAC Convention to allow more
webmasters to be able to attend both
events.
I left Kennedy
International Airport Sunday morning
October 3rd. I don't like flying and
knowing I had a 5 hour flight ahead
of me ALONE,
I was pretty edgy. I WAS excited
to meet all my friends from the GPWA
and the affiliate managers, but the
fear was still there!
I arrived Las Vegas
at approximately 12 pm Vegas time. The
flight was uneventful (whew!)
and I was more than happy to get
the heck off the plane! It was
lovely, the mountains and landscape!
I was here... I was in Las Vegas!
Got to my hotel pretty
quickly, I stayed at the Tropicana in
a  regular room, nothing special but I
knew I wouldn't be spending much time
in there! I was exhausted but got it
together and met a long time GPWA friend
and we took a road trip to the Hoover
Dam. Wow, it was beautiful! we even went
to Lake Meade! I felt like a little kid
on a big family vacation
across the country. The
awe of Gods creation was almost too much
to take in. We do live in a beautiful
world full of amazing natural wonders!

Meade, when you are actually there looking
at it, it is awesome. The photo does
not do it justice! We then just drove
around checking out the Vegas strip at
night, wow... this
was cool! After that
I had to call it a night, I didn't
even have dinner, I was WAY too
tired!
On Monday morning
I got up early, I was very excited for
the GPWA first
meeting of the week! Good thing I got
up early, I ended up having a flood in
my bathroom. There was a pipe that burst
and nearly wrecked all my toiletries!
But, a good thing happened, they put
me in a suite! Yup, I had a suite with
a living room, bedroom, bar, jacuzzi
and a bathroom big enough for 4 people!
Once that fiasco was over I went and
had breakfast with a member I had only
known from the forum so this was a FIRST
in person meeting! We had a nice breakfast
then headed over to the MGM Grand Hotel
and Casino for the meeting. It was wonderful
meeting and greeting all the members.
We were able to exchange lots of useful
tips and have fun!
We had meetings on
the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and
then the rest of the week was fun time!!
I gambled a bit and did lots of shopping
and just checking out all the cool Las
Vegas Casinos! As the week went on, little
by little the members went on their way
home to places all over the world. It
was very sad, these are the most wonderful
people I have ever met!
Friday morning, it's
my turn to depart to the part of the
world I call home. It's very sad to leave
the place I had such a wonderful time
in. I will always have great memories
of the friends I made in Las Vegas.
Time to see my family
back home! Well here I am back in Kennedy
International Airport looking for my
luggage! EEEK.... HELP! This is NOT like
the Las Vegas airport. Welcome home Techwoman! |
